Leadership Trust Index (LTI): Turning trust into a measurable asset

Every CEO agrees trust matters. Almost none of them can tell you their score.

Hybrid work, cultural pressure and the competition for talent have made that gap non-negotiable. The Leadership Trust Index measures trust, benchmarks it against peer organisations and gives boards a way to manage it with the same rigour as performance, employee engagement or profitability.

A recent Deloitte survey found that 55% of organisations have no trust tracking in place at all, despite nearly half of C-suite leaders naming it a priority for the year ahead. PwC's research goes further: in most organisations, no one in the C-suite actually owns trust. My own research found a 29% gap between how trustworthy CEOs rate themselves and how trustworthy their people rate them. I call this the authenticity gap.

Powered by the Nine Habits of Trust Model

The Nine Habits of Trust model, developed through six years of research at Aston Business School, is the only academically verified behavioral framework for building trust in leadership.

Raising trust levels delivers measurable ROI. Overlaying LTI data against Dr Paul Zak's neuroscience research, published in Harvard Business Review, a 20% increase in an organisation's trust score produces a 15% decrease in stress levels, 3% fewer sick days, a 10% uplift in productivity and a 15% increase in employee engagement
